Pioneering engineering firm Vert Rotors won top prize at last night’s prestigious Made in Scotland awards in Glasgow
The Edinburgh based company was crowned overall winner of the Made in Scotland awards as well as picking up Innovator of the Year award.
Judges were unanimous in their decision to award Vert Rotors as the company was recognised for their ultra-compact and quiet compressors which produce 200 per cent higher pressure than their nearest competitors for their size. Both awards recognise the company’s on-going innovation and growth, with the range of compressors all designed and manufactured in Scotland.
Vert Rotors recently added a brand new compressor to its range, The Nautilus. The new compressor is a portable quiet compressor that allows manufacturers to deliver incredibly high levels of compressed air wherever and whenever they need it.
The quiet micro compressors can be used in a range of applications, such as motorsport, precision measurements, or mobile servicing, and the company’s success at targeting future industries such as the space sector, aerospace and automobile have enabled Vert Rotors to double its growth in 2017.
Olly Dimitriev, Managing Director of Vert Rotors said:
“I still can’t believe that we have won the overall award as well as Inventor of the Year. To be awarded two awards is such an honour and we are delighted that we have been recognised amongst strong competition.
Vert Rotors has gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months, manufacturing new products and securing four patents for our micro compressor technology. We have recently come back from Germany, showcasing our compressors at Hanover Messe, the world’s leading trade show for industrial technology. We are taking the technology we are producing in Scotland and exporting it overseas to international markets. We are proud to be doing our part in pushing forward Scottish innovation and securing a place for Scottish manufacturing in the global market.
