David Noake

Head of Micro-compressors


David is a highly dedicated and driven chartered member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, enthusiastic and determined engineer with a high level of specialist knowledge and business acumen. 

David Noake’s key qualifications are:

  • Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
  • Mechanical Engineering with Honours – University of Edinburgh (2004)

David is responsible for developing micro compressor systems for automotive, Space and clean air applications, including CAD design, FEA, development of numerical models for predicting therodynamical and physical behaviour of the system, and hands-on experimentation.

David’s experience includes

  • Development of design solutions and identification of issues, use of FEA to ensure components would not be damaged during installation
  • Responsibility of ensuring all design reviews, manufacturing and customer documentation is produced and maintained
  • Use of FLUENT for exhaust, vent, gas dispersion analyses and ventilation assessments
  • Conversion and simplification of large of 3D geometry models to format required for CFD analysis
  • Complex FEA of large nuclear waste handling vessels
  • Use of FEA and classical calculations to design and detail flue and air ducting
  • Thermal transient optimisation analysis for key load bearing components
  • Design and reporting for modifications to nuclear power station superheater components
